Note 1: There were no championships played in 1942-1945 and Cup competitions in 1941-1943 because of the World War II. The 1941 championship was started but was interrupted by the World War II on June 22. At that point teams had played different number of games between 8-11 each. The leaders were Dinamo Moskva (15 points/10 games), Dinamo Leningrad (14/10), and Dinamo Tbilisi (13/9).

Note 2: The team CSKA Moskva was known under the name CDKA Moskva in 1936-1950, CDSA Moskva in 1951-1956

Note 3: The team Ararat Yerevan was known as Spartak Yerevan until 1965

Note 4: Team Dinamo Minsk was known as Spartak Minsk until 1959, and as Belarus Minsk in 1960-1962.
